New Flying Spur W12 S Is The First Four-Door Bentley To Top 200 MPH

Bentley revealed a new range-topper for the Flying Spur range dubbed the W12 S which is also the fastest four-door model that came out of Crewe-based factory.

The twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine has been updated to offer 635 PS (626hp), up from 625 PS, and torque from 800Nm to 820Nm (605lb-ft), available from just 2,000rpm.

This power increase allows the new Flying Spur W12 S to achieve a 202mph (325km/h) top speed, making it not only the fastest four-door Bentley but also the first one to exceed the 200mph mark. 0-60mph comes in 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.5 sec).

As with every Bentley these days, power is distributed to all four wheels with a 40:60 front-rear torque split while the suspension has been updated with specific damper and stability control calibrations, without compromising the Flying Spur’s refined ride. Optional carbon ceramic brakes are also available.

The exterior of the fastest Flying Spur you can get now features a number of dark styling cues, including a Beluga gloss radiator grille and light surrounds, a rear diffuser and optional carbon fibre trim pieces. Front and rear lamps now get a dark tint. A set of specific 21inch 7-spoke gloss black wheels are standard, with an also 21inch 5-spoke design available as an option.

“The Flying Spur W12 S is the ultimate luxury performance sedan”, says Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors. “It combines sharper dynamics and an increase in power from our renowned W12 engine with a more assertive exterior and interior design for customers looking for a Flying Spur with extra attitude.”

The cabin gains a unique black engine-spin finish to the fascia and waistrails, W12 S treadplates for the front and rear and a three-spoke steering wheel and knurled gearshift paddles.

The first customer cars are expected to be delivered at the end of the year.
