New Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept Heading To Paris, May Preview Next Outlander

Following a teaser released earlier this summer, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have lifted the veils off the all-new GT-PHEV Concept, prior to its 2016 Paris Auto Show debut.

Previewing the next-generation Outlander, the Ground Tourer (GT) features the brand's latest design language and comes with a massive grille, a set of slender headlights with a certain Range Rover Evoque vibe, horizontal lines on the sides, a rounded rear end, and a floating roof, which is slightly raked towards the rear for a sportier look.

The automaker has yet to release images with the interior of the all-new SUV study, but states that it comes with "a horizontal dashboard that creates a spacious ambiance", along with an instrument panel with a high center console, and Burgundy leather, joined by what Mitsubishi refers to as "the latest in connected car technology".

Power comes from three electric motors, one at the front and two at the rear, which are said to deliver "a dramatic improvement in the performance of its full-time four-wheel drive powertrain and MMC's own Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrated vehicle dynamics control system". These are fed by a fresh high-capacity battery package and backed up by an internal combustion engine with Mitsubishi not providing more details. What they did reveal is that the new Japanese study has a total cruising range of more than 1,200 km (746 miles), out of which 120 km (75 miles) can be covered in full electric mode.
